History: Talking Heads (sometimes stylized as T∀LKINGHE∀DS) were an American rock band formed in New York City in 1975.It consisted of lead vocalist and guitarist David Byrne, drummer Chris Frantz, bassist Tina Weymouth, and guitarist and keyboardist Jerry Harrison.
Described as one of the most acclaimed groups of the 1980s, Talking Heads helped to pioneer new wave music by combining elements of punk, art rock, funk, and world music with "an anxious yet clean-cut image".

I always feel guilty that Talking Heads took a couple of months to really click with me because Holy Shit are they good. Everyone knows they're good. They were one of the first bands I got into that I really felt represented by thanks to David Byrne writing songs about average experiences autistic people go through. However, he was only diagnosed with autism much later in his career.
He's also pretty great at writing songs about the general honest experience of being alive and how miserable it can be. I'd totally reccomend checking out his solo stuff If you haven't already, he put out a new album last year that I saw him perform live!
Tina Weymouth's basslines are soooo fuckin yummy that it almost excuses her and Chris Frantz being shitty people. Almost.
Pink Floyd are an English rock band formed in London in 1965 by Syd Barrett (guitar, vocals), Nick Mason (drums), Roger Waters (bass guitar, vocals) and Richard Wright (keyboards, vocals), with David Gilmour (guitar, vocals) joining at the end of 1967.
Gaining an early underground following as one of the first British psychedelic groups, they were distinguished by their extended compositions, sonic experiments, philosophical lyrics, and elaborate live performances, becoming a leading progressive rock band.
These guys have haunted me since I was 13 and finally gave the full Shine On You Crazy Diamond suite a listen. Baby's first introduction to songs longer than 10 minutes. Unrelated, it's really funny to me that I am now a pretty big fan of most of the bands referenced in JJBA, since i used to like it a lot. A divine vision of sorts.
Though, it wasn't till I was 16 that I started really listening to them. My dad (also a long-time Pink Floyd fan. Fork found in kitchen) noticed I was listening to The Wall and suggested that we watch the 1982 film based on the album. Movies that completely destroy you and only get harder to watch as you get older, as it explores the consequences of unchecked mental illness (specifically BPD and CPTSD) and how severe trauma can cause a person to completely cut themselves off from the world and any potential support systems.
I thoroughly believe every single person on earth should watch this film, but make sure to do it when you're in the right state of mind other wise It Will Hurt You. Badly.

TRUST THESE AUSTRALIANS WILL BE DEALT WITH.
Music as a whole is the longest, most consistent special interest i've ever had. Shout out to my dad for playing his Björk CDs for me as a baby to help me sleep. I am pretty sure that's why i'm Like This to this day.
I listen to all sorts of different genres, but the ones I find myself gravitating towards the most include: New Wave, Post Punk, Progressive + Psychedelic rock, Synthwave/pop/rock, Electronic, Australian rock, Vada Vada, Industrial, and New Romantic.

Fave Tracks:
Notes: It took me a hot minute to really listen to this album in full for whatever the hell reason, but once I did it quickly jumped up to one of my fave gizz albums. That three-track-run between Real's Not Real, This Thing, and Acarine is so fuckin yummy.
