I think its beautiful that the concept of a half-man-half-fly hybrid was so well received that they made merch of the guy decades after the original film's release. Freaky bug body horror you will always be famous.
These figures in particular are pretty hard to score on Ebay for a decent price unfortunately, (they used to retail for only 35-40 dollars) though thankfully a mego doll of the first film's fly design is significantly more common to stumble upon.
I really loved the packaging design for this guy, however it was pretty much impossible to free him without completely destroying the box. Oh well, you can't win em all I suppose.
The sculpt itself: his planet-sized head was given immaculate attention to detail, with his huge green compound eyes and tiny bits of plastic sticking out to mimic fly fur. Wish there was more colour added to him other than just solid black, as flies often have lighter colouring around their mouth and eyes.
I've always loved figures that use real fabrics for their clothes, even if this suit is pretty basic, as it adds more depth to them and really makes them feel like they live in your house without ever thinking to help you with your rent.
He's got 12 points of articulation, allowing for pretty much any pose you can think of; though the torso joint on mine seems a little loose, as he loves slouching over like he's about to trip and eat shit.
He comes with a pretty sturdy base, and balances pretty well with and without it, even with his wonky fly foot.
He also comes with two other accessories, those being a tiny fly with a human head and a tipped over flask of blood. Yeah it looks completely ridiculous.
Standing at 12 inches, he's the biggest piece in my collection by far. Just completely mogs every single other guy on this shelf. Its really really funny to me. Why doesn't the big bug just eat the little bugs?
