god i cannot believe i finally own this guy. he is near impossible to find by himself, and although the full set from where he's from is pretty common, it is constantly a gamble to find it at a decent price as it was a sdcc exclusive.

he's the same size as my other mego style dolls, however his armor and his wings make him seem absolutely huge. he's quite the stand out piece in my collection for sure. perhaps even one of my grails.

originally, i had a bit of trouble balancing him [he does not balance at all with his wings folded due to their added weight] but then i remembered the best way to get these types of figures to stand is to give them a really shitty posture. and luckily for me the monarch canonically develops a terrible one.

i love love love the way light flows through his transparent wings, gives him more aura or whatever kids are saying these days than he really deserves.

like my other bits of venture merch, he was manufactured over a decade ago, and it's especially obvious with this monarch in particular with how bright he is. he's got specks of paint imperfection and like my other monarch mego, suffers from the pleather curse.

the decision to give him pleather shorts is a little strange to me, since in that design he has a metal codpiece, but it is what it is.
